So today I saw my mother and she gave me some pictures she had found that she thought I might want. The one of my long-departed cat I appreciated. This one, not so much.
I think this would have been around 1989 and when I saw it all I could see was the glasses. Holy cow. What was I thinking?
It’s funny how much more public the fashion sins of our past are since the advent of the Internet. Once upon a time, no one would have known about my enormous glasses but me. I could have thrown out that picture and forgotten that phase. But now there’s a public record of the ridiculousness.
Do you have pictures of yourself that shock you when you see them?
I have one for which I have no one to blame but my mother. She gave me a home perm the day before my 3rd grade school pic was taken. Think how different my life might have been were it not for that humiliation.
LOL! One time when I was in about 9th grade, my mother decided to try the home perm thing on me. She got about half the rollers in, freaked out and ran me three blocks down the street to the salon for them to finish it.
I had those glasses. Mine were pink.
LMAO! Someone said to me that they reminded her of Sally Jesse Raphael’s glasses, but hers were red. I’d forgotten all about her.
